Agatha (Aggie) Hostetler-Adams

Agatha (Aggie) Hostetler -Adams was born on January 15th, 1925 in Bloomington to her parents Robert (Bob) and Loretta Schnubell.She married Jack Heagy and had her first children- Cindy, Taffy, Tim and Joe. After Jack's passing, Aggie joined the workforce and became the switchboard operator at Bloomington Hospital.During that time she met the man she described as truly the love of her life, Warren Hostetler. They married. Warren and his son Michael joined and together became one big family. During their marriage on Aggie's 39th birthday, Lori was born and the family was complete. Sadly, in 1985 Warren passed away. Years later, at the age of 73, Aggie married Bill Adams. They took life by the horns and rode it as an adventure, traveling cross country more than once. They were happily married until Bill passed in 2012.Aggie was a devout Catholic all her life and was an active member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. She was the head of the funeral luncheons, served on many committees and attended any event held at or for her beloved church. One of her Grand-daughters described her as beautiful, her appearance including her trademark scarves were important to her. Other phrases the described her -an encouraging spirit, quick witted and never at a loss of words. A huge IU basketball fan, she never missed a game. However standing 4"11, she was never asked to join in. For the last couple of years she lived at Meadowood retirement home where she was treated like a queen and enjoyed being the social butterfly she had been her whole life. She took up jewelry making as well. She would very seldom if at all go anywhere that she didn't know someone that she would call by name .She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Her children and Grandchildren included Cindy Brown-Nikki,Micah Taffy (Joel) Tomlinson-Bridges-Kevin Tim (Diana) Heagy- Tanya,Robert,John Jr. Daughter in Law Barbara Hostetler-Nancy Lori (Todd) Wilkerson-Jason,Josh She also had 14 great grand children She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Loretta Sister Sis Rogers,Buck Schnubell Her son Michael Hostetler and her grand-daughter, Amy Richardson. A funeral mass will be 10am Monday March 17, 2014 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church with visitation 2-8pm Sunday March 16, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old State Road 37 Bloomington, IN. A Rosary Service will be at 7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. The burial will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Allen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
