Alice Marie Rogers

Alice Marie Rogers, 84, of Bloomington, IN, passed away peacefully during the early morning of Friday, April 3, 2026 from a long battle with Alzheimer's / Dementia. She was born on August 30, 1941, in Owensburg, IN to Joe Hudson and Cecile Anna (Turpin) Hudson. She had six brothers, Charles Albert (passed at birth), Joe (Linda) Hudson, Tom (Sandy) Hudson, Jack (Sandra) Hudson, David Hollars, and Michael (Jeanie) Sullivan; two sisters Shirley Evans and Kathy (Bob) Rogers. She married the love of her life, George Willis Rogers, on April 27, 1956 in Bloomington, IN. Alice and George 'Sonny" had two children, Cindy Rogers-Wilbur and George Rogers, Jr. and were happily married 32 years until George's death in 1988. In her early years of marriage, Alice and George owned a restaurant in Harrodsburg, IN. After it's closing, she worked for RCA in assembly line / manufacturing until the factory's close. Alice loved children and filled her time after the close of RCA by babysitting many nieces, nephews, neighborhood children, and children of friends. She could relate with them in a special way, everyday was an adventure filled with laughs and making memories. Weekends were spent on Lake Monroe boating and fishing with family and friends. She loved to dance, especially to country or 50's & 60's tunes. Alice had many talents including quilting, crocheting, embroidery, gardening, painting and baking. She loved giving her creations to family and friends. If you stopped by for a visit she would insist you sit at the table and have a bite to eat. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Rogers-Wilbur, son George Rogers, Jr, and grandchildren, Kory (Erin) Wilbur, Hailey (Curtis) Rogers, Lindsay (Dylan) Chronister, and Wyatt Rogers. Her great grandchildren are Carson Wilbur, Landon Wilbur, and Ross Chronister. She is also survived by brothers / sisters and their spouses, brother-in-law, Donald (Nancy) Rogers, sister-in-law, Alberta Southern, nephews, nieces, and many friends. Alice was a member of the Pentecostal faith. She attended Paynetown Pentecostal Church and was loved by her Pastor, Cheryl Crum, and the church family. Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, George "Sonny", father, Joe Hudson, mother, Cecile Sullivan and step-father, Vernon Sullivan, infant brother, Charles Albert Hudson, and brother, David Hollars. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to mom's staff in Unit 5 of Majestic Memory Care, Bloomington, IN. The kindness, dedication and love they showed mom during her stay will never be forgotten. A Funeral Service for Alice will be held at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory officiated by Pastor Ryan Marshall from Shiloh Temple on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the start of the service. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
