Andrew Hall Lindsey

Andrew Hall Lindsey, 32, loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 7. Andrew was born in Bloomington on June 25, 1990, to Bob and Valerie (Bouvier) Lindsey. He grew up in Bloomington, graduating with honors from Bloomington High School North. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education. He received a Master’s in Educational Leadership, following in a family tradition of teaching. He taught middle school Social Studies, at John R. Wooden Middle School in Martinsville, where he coached baseball. He was especially enjoying this year with his students and loved to talk about what he was doing in the classroom. He was proud of the things his students accomplished. Andrew had many passions throughout his life. Growing up, he participated in different sports including baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling. Whenever possible, he would be hiking and enjoying the outdoors. He took many long treks and felt at home when exploring nature. He had hiked every state park in Indiana, as well as the Appalachian Trail. He loved animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico with his family several times a year. Andrew was part of a loving family. He was proud to be an uncle to his three little nephews, and they adored him. He was always the first person to help others and could be counted on to pitch in whenever he was needed. He had a wonderful smile and a great, subtle sense of humor. Andrew is survived by his parents, Bob and Valerie Lindsey, brother Anthony (Elizabeth) Lindsey, grandmother Ida Bouvier, aunts Sherrill (Stuart) Curry, Susan (Al) Velasquez, Suzanne Bouvier, Alain (Kim) Bouvier, Monique (Jon) Loucks, Andre Bouvier, nephews Luke, Noah, and Trey Lindsey, cousins Curtis Curry, Lisa Webb, Kevin Curry, Lauren Bays, David Loucks, and Kasey, Kiley, Cabot, and Kaitlin Bouvier. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Doris and Bob Lindsey, Raymond Bouvier and his cousin Christopher Curry. Visitation will be at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old Road 37, Bloomington, on Wednesday, January 11, from 4:00 until 8:00. Memorial contributions may be made to Bloomington Animal Shelter or the charity of one’s choice.
