Carol Ann Kitchie

Carol Ann (Crouse) Kitchie (87), of Bloomington, IN, left us on the evening of Thursday, April 2nd. Carol was born in Hudson, NY on December 16,1938 to Robert and Natalie (McNamara) Crouse. Carol attended St. Mary’s Academy in Hudson before attending the State University of New York at New Paltz. She met and married the love of her life, George Kitchie on September 7, 1957. They were married for 68 years and were amazing role models for married life to their family and friends. Carol’s primary vocation was taking care of her husband and children. As her children grew, she had various jobs and volunteer experiences. She volunteered with the church and school in many capacities. She worked in the parish office at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish, and at the Wooden Key Hallmark Store, in Carmel, IN. She became an independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay cosmetics and was with them for 14 years. Carol also received certification as a trained spiritual director at the Benedictine Center in Beech Grove, IN. Carol and her husband George, were very active in the Cursillo movement and worked on a number of teams to provide this retreat and leadership experience for others. Her Catholic faith was central to her life and she remained a faithful member of the Catholic church throughout her life. Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband George (February 12, 2026) and their son Patrick, her parents Robert and Natalie Crouse and sister Nancy Conway. She is survived by her two children Susan (Ken) Campbell, and Neil (Joan) Kitchie, brothers Joseph (Laura) Crouse, Robert (Ellen) Crouse, grandchildren Dan (Holly) Campbell, Christine (Tom Norris) Campbell, Alex Kitchie, Laura (Nico) Giokaris, Ryan (Katherine) Kitchie, John Kitchie and Luke Kitchie. Carol has two great-grandchildren, Mia and Sophia. Services are scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2026, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2222 E. Third Street, Bloomington, IN 47401. Visitation will be held in the church at 11:00 am. The funeral Mass will be at 12:00 pm. All are invited to a luncheon reception in the Parish Hall at St. Charles immediately following the Mass. Private burial at the Mary’s Children Cemetery, located at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center in Bloomington, IN on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
