Cecil Brock

Cecil Brock, 72, of Bedford, passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2017, at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Cecil was born August 7, 1944 in Asher, Kentucky the son of John Henry and Susie (Hoskins) Brock. He was a 1962 graduate of Medora High School. He married Gloria Jean White on May 16, 1965 in Medora, Indiana. Cecil worked for Cummins in Columbus and then for Pantasote in Seymour for over 20 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of Shiloh Pentecostal Temple in Bloomington, Indiana for 20 years where he was greatly involved. He recently was also a member of Forgiveness Apostolic Church in Bedford, Indiana. Church was a big part of Cecil’s life he was always very involved in several ministries including evangelism, outreach, and missions and the nursing home ministry, over the years he worked as a Sunday School Teacher, youth leader, song leader, men’s ministry leader, ALJC Prison Chaplin for the CIF in Pendleton, IN, Cecil and his wife also was a part of the “Helping Hand for Uganda” an orphanage adopt a child project. He loved working in the church, woodworking in which he turned into a small business making wood benches and other wood crafts and selling them in Nashville, In and at other craft shows. He was a very caring and giving man who loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Cecil is survived by his wife; Gloria Brock of Bedford, two sons; David (Amy) Brock, Dennis Brock, both of Bloomington, two daughters; Cheryl (Alfredo) Rameriz, of Bedford, Becky (Troy) Lamb, of Avoca, eight grandchildren, one brother; Bige (Tanya) Brock of Panama City Beach, FL, two sisters; Cathy Verba of Medora, Goldie (Richard) Goen of Clear Spring, In and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Bryson Lamb, five brothers Johnny, Dempsey, Ingram (IG), Walter, Clyde Brock and two sisters Rosie Stuckwisch and Virgie Allman. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Shiloh Pentecostal Temple in Bloomington, with Rev. Russell Elkins and Rev Bruce Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Weddleville Cemetery in Medora. Family will receive friends Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday from 11:00am until the time of service at the church.
