Clarence E. "Bud" Dillon

Clarence E. “Bud” Dillon, 72, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born on February 3, 1947 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Gerald Eugene and Betty Jo (Lane) Dillon. Bud grew up in Oaktown, IN, and was a 1965 graduate of North Knox High School in Edwardsport, IN. He received his associate degree in education at Vincennes University in 1967. He married Luann Adelle Langdon on August 11, 1974 in Vincennes, Indiana. Bud returned to school and received his Bacholers degree in education from Indiana University in 1977 and also served as manager of the Indiana University track team. He was employed first at Crane Naval Base, and then at Good Samaritan Hospital. Bud worked as an Independent Petroleum Geologist for 15 years, and then worked as a science teacher for MCCSC and Martinsville High School for 15 years. Bud was a certified professional geologist, a member of the National Speleological Society, American Society of Petroleum Geologist, President of the Vincennes University Alumni Association, IU I-Man and the White River Valley Antique Tractor Association. He was a Cubs fan, IU sports fan, bat enthusiast, civil war enthusiast, caver, cave diver, he enjoyed antique tractors, ecology and wildlife. He also loved spending time with his family and friends and his many pets, including his best buddy Thor. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Bud is survived by his wife, Luann A. Dillon; his daughters, Sara and Jennifer Dillon all of Bloomington; he is also survived by his brother, Richard (Karen) Dillon of Oaktown; two sisters, Terri Dillon and LaDonna Green both of Vincennes; sister-in-law, Lynn Langdon (John Hamilton). Miller of South Bend; Nieces and Nephews’ Richard Dillon, Kristin Dillon, Daniel Dillon, Stephany Dillon, Alanna Green and Donovan Green. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Stephan Dillon. A memorial service will be held October 26th at 2pm at 7691 W. Kirksville Road. Cremation Rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Bat Conservation International, batcon.org. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
