Deloris "Dee" Deanna (Atwood) Keutzer

Deloris “Dee” Deanna (Atwood) Keutzer, 81, of Bloomington passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospice House. She was born on October 12, 1943 in Casey County, Kentucky the daughter of George and Jessie (Peyton) Atwood. Deloris is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Harold Keutzer; children Mark Cochran (Mary Kay), Angie Boelt (Marty), Harold Keutzer Jr. (Jeremey) and Bill Keutzer; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and two sisters Dolly Austin and Drucilla Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Darvin Atwood and Dawson F. Atwood, and a sister Dorothy Brissey-Seering. Deloris possessed an enormous heart that loved effortlessly. She appreciated the simple thing in life that bring pleasure to the heart and spirit. She made a career caring for the elderly and operated her own cleaning business. Cooking and baking were one of her many talents. She made the best homemade biscuits and often had many requests for her apple pie fritters. Deloris made friends with everyone. Born a natural nurturer she had a great love for animals. She raised everything from Rheas to any wild animal that found their way to her door. It was normal to her drive with a squirrel on her shoulder or to be greeted by a baby opossum roaming through her house. Deloris and Harold enjoyed giving tours to local school children at their home they called “Little Kornfield Ranch.” Deloris and Harold had their own petting zoo before petting zoos were popular. Children could pet baby ducks; they watched goats frolic and play or could hear the exotic call of a peacock before it displayed its array of beautiful feathers. She always loved finding and watching birds. Her favorite was the American Gold Finch. Deloris grew the most beautiful flowers. Wild Blue Bells, various types of Roses including one that had belonged to her grandmother, Lilies, Phlox, Wisteria, Daisies and Coneflowers. Everywhere around her home you could see a flower planted by her loving hands. She would often say “Isn’t God good? Just look around you and see all He has made.” God definitely made her special. Her love and kindness will be forever remembered. Funeral services for Deloris will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Rd 37 in Bloomington.
