Geneva Irene Wease

Geneva Irene Wease, 86, of Bloomington passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Garden Villa in Bloomington. She was born on May 28, 1934 in Lawrence County, Indiana the daughter of Lefair and Orpha (Reynolds) Guthrie. Geneva was a 1952 graduate of Mitchell High School. Geneva married Arthur Kenneth Wease on June 25, 1953 in Lawrence County, Indiana the were happily married 59 years. She worked for over 30 years for RCA until she retired in 1992. After she retired, she went back to work for Walmart for five years. Geneva was a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, and she was a former member of the Tulip Street Christian Church in Mitchell. She enjoyed shopping, IU Basketball, playing Eucher, camping, walking, she was a social butterfly and was involved in all activities at the Garden Villa, she loved all her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Geneva is survived by her sons, Ken (Debbie) Wease of Harrodsburg; Michael (Tina) Wease of Anderson; her daughter, Ginger (Craig) Sparks of Spencer; six grandchildren, Aaron (Marci) Wease; Travis (Amanda) Wease; Jamison Wease; Justin Wease; Seth Sparks; Wyatt Sparks; four great grandchildren, McKinzie (Austin) Reith ;Brett Wease; Dalton Wease; Tyson Wease; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Wendall (Twyla) Wease of Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews; and a grand puppy Mugsy. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband; one son Jarold Wease; one daughter, Genetta Wease; and a great grandson, Robert Wease. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church. With Rev. Matt Hinshaw officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Lawrenceport Cemetery. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorial contributions may be made in Geneva’s name to the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
