Gwendolyn Faye "Gwen" Hacker

Gwendolyn Faye Hacker, 68 of Bloomington, Indiana. Gwen went to be with God on February.12, 2021. She was born on November 20, 1952 in Pine Hill, Tennessee the daughter of Everet and Delma (Anderson) Collins. She was a 1970 graduate of Tipton High School in Tipton, Indiana. She married William Frank “Bill” Hacker on January 18, 1993 in Bloomington. Gwen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to all. Gwen never met a stranger. She had a heart of gold and made everyone welcome at her home. She was the person who was always there for everyone and would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Gwen loved sewing, gardening and cooking. She made the most beautiful quilts and doll clothes. She would spend hours sewing and give whatever she sewed away to friends and family as gifts. Gwen was one of the most giving people that we have ever met. Gwen also loved animals and adored her dogs Mandy, Snoopy and Pete. We will miss her smile, her laugh, her humor, her thoughtfulness and most of all, her huge heart. She worked as a seamstress for a sewing factory in Tennessee, and also as a manager of a restaurant in Frankfort, Indiana and then she worked for Cook Medical for several years in Bloomington, Indiana. Gwen is survived by her husband, Bill Hacker of Bloomington; her children, Missy Turnbull; Brad Johnson Jean Johnson and Dean Johnson; her stepchildren, Julie (Brandon)Smith and Jeffrey Hacker; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; nephew Frank (Debbie) Hacker; Dick Hacker and Linda Miller; her sisters, Sue Stevens and Pat Moore; her brothers, Royce Collins; Steve Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronnie Collins. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old St Rd 37 Bloomington. With Hospice chaplain Kelly Carson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to service time Monday, March 8, 2021 at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
