Jane Marie Reinhart

Jane Marie Reinhart, 79, of Bloomington, went home to the Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2025, surrounded in love by her family at IU Health Bloomington. Jane was born on October 17, 1946, to Vernon A. and Connie R. (Durchholz) Wagner. She later married the love of her life, James “Jim” Reinhart, who cherishes the 59 years they shared together. Jane graduated from Rex Mundi High School in Evansville in 1964. She devoted her heart and talents to children as a teacher’s assistant at St. John’s Catholic School and Tri-North schools. A woman of strong and steady faith, she was an active member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and the Oblates of St. Meinrad. Jane joyfully lived her calling to serve — sewing vestments for priests, making altar cloths, caring for the church’s linens, and sharing her creativity through the church craft fair. At home, Jane’s warmth filled every space. She was a gifted homemaker who loved quilting, sewing, painting, reading, and Bible study. More than anything, she treasured time spent with family — whether around a table, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying one another’s presence. Jane will be remembered for her faith, her kindness, her crafts made with love, and the way she made everyone feel at home. Her legacy of love will carry on in all who were blessed to know her. Jane is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her children, Adam (Stacey) Reinhart, Michele (Bob) Stanton, and Stephanie (John) Mitchell; her sister, Ruth (Steve) McCombs; and her brother, Paul (Janet) Wagner. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a delighted great-grandmother of two. Gary (Niki), Kacey (Philip), Riley (Jake), Lauren, Lillian, Kendall, Peyton, Micah, Hunter and Jett. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Norma Pepper, Mike Wagner, and Sylvia Nichols. We take comfort in knowing they are now reunited. All are welcome to join Jane’s family for a visitation at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Ellettsville on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). Jane will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. (Central Time). In honor of Jane’s generous spirit, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
