Janet S. Robertson

Janet S. Robertson born May 25,1939 stepped into eternity August 16, 2022. Her life was a testimony to Jesus and was a life well-lived. She was the daughter of Sage & Frank McDonald. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Molly, daughter Julia Ann and husband Don. She is survived by daughters, Jill Robertson, Chris Andreasen, husband Steve and grandchildren Ben and Emily, and Alice (Alli) McGlothlin. She is also survived by siblings Frank McDonald Jr., Dan McDonald and sister Mary Londergan. Jan married Don M. Robertson on June 24, 1961. Don & Jan met at Miami of OH on a blind date. Their relationship developed quickly, and this led to many life adventures. Jan was an active member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church and Bible Study Fellowship, prior to health issues. She taught for MCCSC at Clear Creek, Grandview and Binford Elementary School for more than 20 years and impacting the lives of the next generation. She taught at Honey Creek School during some summer sessions. Jan was an adventurous woman. She also enjoyed playing bridge for many years. She and Don were in a gourmet cooking club and were Master Gardeners. Jan enjoyed watching football, especially the Indianapolis Colts & Clemson. She enjoyed traveling to exciting destinations. She sailed with Don on Lake Michigan, off the coast of Florida, and in the Caribbean. She loved to walk and was a participant in the Indianapolis 500 Mini Marathon for over 13 years. She received many walking medals and burned through lots of tennis shoes! She loved her family near and far. She prioritized them whenever she could. When her grandchildren were born, she relished every second she had with them. She is proud of her daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren. Jan was a kind and generous woman. She gave to many people in need. She and Don both gave meals to children during summer vacations for years. She supported those living in poverty with her service and her giving. In her later years, she always had a smile for those who helped her. She remained able to say thank you even when she was very sick. She truly was grateful and thankful for all that people did for her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Rest In Peace, dear Jan. You lived a good life and you have finished your race. Funeral Services will be held on at 10:00am Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at The Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old St Rd 37 Bloomington. With Rev. Tom Ellsworth Officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00am to service time Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
