Jody Annette Martindale

Jody Annette Martindale (of Bloomington) passed away the morning of the 18th of January 2017 at the age of 50. She was born the 27th of September 1966 in Naples, Florida to Margaret “Peggy” (Irwin) Strickland and Terry Strickland. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Tony, three children, Blake, Tori, and Dallas, daughter-in-law Kristin, grandson Jack (all of Bloomington), as well as her adopted father, Art Charloff (of Swansea, SC) many siblings, nieces, and nephews in Florida. Jody was a talented and enthusiastic Registered Nurse and home business owner, and will be missed for her charm and sense of humor. Jody and Tony married in Naples, Florida the 12th of May 1985 and gave birth to their first son, Blake, in November of the same year. Their daughter, Tori, was born in 1993, and their second son, Dallas, was born in 1997. Jody was a nurse for over 20 years, working in many different facilities hospitals, giving varied types of care to people in need. She was once a correction’s nurse in the Collier County jail, and most recently an ICU critical care Registered Nurse. After retiring from nursing a few years ago, Jody took the reigns of a home auction business that she ran with her husband until her death. Jody loved to travel in her RV camper with Tony, frequenting Tennessee and even Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana. Their auction work took them to Cincinnati, Ohio often and cities and towns all over Indiana. She was always happy to spend time with and care for her grandson, Jack, and loved to be surrounded by her children. Two of her favorite movies were The Wizard of Oz and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Needless to say, Jody had a strong personality and unique, wicked sense of humor. Her mother, Peggy, father, Terry, and adopted mother, Diane precede Jody in death. Jody passed away the morning of January 18, 2017 surrounded by her family. Private services will be held in her honor.
