June Evelyn Surelle

June E. Miller Surelle, 90, formerly of Lake Wales, FL. passed away at 10:24 pm on December 28, 2015 at her daughter's home in Solsberry, IN. after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She spent the last several months of her life surrounded by family in a loving, caring atmosphere. She was born in Laporte, IN on April 30,1925 to the late Ralph and Thelma M. Kerth. She was married to Thomas Riley Miller until he passed away in 1979. Together they raised 10 children. She was a homemaker. Her quiet personality and sweet smile were true gifts and will never be forgotten. She loved to sew and bake cookies. She made a lot of fudge and her 10 little children loved it, even when they had to eat it with a spoon. She loved to play bingo. She loved animals and late in life she "rescued" a little dachshund. Before she became ill one of her favorite past times was soaking up the Florida sunshine while sitting in her backyard, watching her little dog chase squirrels. She and Toby became inseparable and were best "buds". She is survived by her sister, Nadine Downs, Mulberry, Fl., Her children: Thelma (Vernon) Martindale, Switz City, IN; Carol Cox, Bloomfield, IN; Connie (Jack) Neal, Lake Wales, FL; Charles (Mary Kay) Miller, Worthington, IN; Barbara (Donald) Hall, Bloomington, IN; Patricia Ann (Paul) Cox, Solsberry, IN; Nancy Little, Bloomfield, IN; Sharon (Mike) Barnes, Bloomfield, IN; David Miller, WI; Mary Ellen (David) Kirk, Sedro Wooley, WA. She leaves behind precious grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, her husband, and a grandson, Jackie Lee Martindale, Bloomington, IN. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Allen Funeral Home & Crematory 4155 S. Old St Rd 37, with Rev. Glen Stidd, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers her family asks that memorial contributions be made to your local animal shelter in the name of Toby Boy, her beloved dog. A limb has fallen from our family tree.
