Kevin John Briles

Kevin John Briles, 63, of Bloomington passed away on January 16, 2023 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born September 30, 1959 in Martinsville, Indiana the son of John Riley and Dolores Ann (Calhoun) Briles. He was a 1977 Graduate of Bloomington High School South, and attended Indiana University. He married Terri Kay Ranard on October 29, 2005 in Bloomington, Indiana. They were happily married seventeen years. Keven worked at Cook Medical for over forty years, most recently as a Senior Buyer. He was a member of the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, would always tell you about the time he spent in the boy scouts, enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, playing golf, grilling, telling jokes, watching his favorite sports teams, the Indiana Hoosiers, Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics and the Pittsburg Pirates. Kevin was a great father and grandfather. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a servant of God, with a generous heart. He will be greatly missed. Kevin is survived by his children, Travis Briles of Spencer; Josh Briles of Bloomington; Mackenzie (Trey) Smith of Loogootee; Brandi (Shawn) Langley of Spencer; James Ranard of Bedford; five grandchildren, Shawn Austin Langley; Nickolas Langley; Brenna Langley; Katelyn Nichols and Ryan Langley; and two great grandchildren, Jackson Langley and Garrison Langley; a brother, Craig (Marci) Briles of Bloomington; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dolores Briles; his wife Terri Briles who passed away on December 23, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church. With Rev Alan Phillips Officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 23, 2023, and from 10:00 AM to service time Tuesday, January 24, 2023 both at the church. The family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made to the Kicking Bear Foundation. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
