King (Cleotis) Hillenburg

King Hillenburg went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 15th. He was 87 years old. He was born to John and Ethel Hillenburg in Sanders, Indiana, on March 30, 1930. He grew up as the youngest of four children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia Joan (Sisson). They spent their retirement years traveling within the United States, camping in Tennessee making wonderful new friends whom they loved dearly. They enjoyed going to Disney World, the Smokey’s, Virginia, and traveling to visit friends in the Southern states. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his favorite hobby, always has been, and remained that way until the end. He loved them all equally, unconditionally and wholeheartedly. He held wonderful memories of time spent with his cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, his parents and brother and sisters. He had no “in-laws”, just more brothers and sisters. The life events he shared with us are remarkable. He has left several lifelong buddies here who he loved like brothers; men he worked with at the quarry and at Westinghouse Electric. After retiring from Westinghouse he worked for 18 years at Curry Buick driving cars for them. He loved it all. Other family preceding King in death are Tom (Ruth) Hillenburg, Virginia (Merlin) Raper, Herb and Mid Sisson, David and Daniel Sisson, and Peggy Sisson of Terre Haute. King is survived by daughter Susan (Don) Hillenburg, sons Mike Hillenburg, and John (Holli) Hillenburg, and his sister, Jean Hillenburg Seguin, all of Bloomington; two brothers- in- law Herb Sisson of Terre Haute and John (Rosa) Sisson of Indianapolis. The seven grandchildren are Donnie (Crystal), Becky, James Michael, Julia, Mitch, Ciana and Livia, all Hillenburg. The seven great-grandchildren are Jordan May, Harley, Jaclyn, Gavin, Chandler, Layla, and little Maverick Wayne, all Hillenburg. Allen Funeral Home is taking care of arrangements. Viewing and services will be held at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37. Visitation for friends and family is Monday November 20, 2017 from 4-8PM, and Tuesday November 21, 2017, from 10-11AM with services at 11AM. Burial at Clear Creek Cemetery.
