Larry Edward Fender

Larry Edward Fender,74, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at his home on November 27, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born in Bloomington, IN on October 16, 1944, and was later adopted by Jasper and Alice (Wilson) Fender. He attended Bloomington High School and graduated in 1964. Larry married the love of his life, Nancy Lee Carmichael at Little Cincinnati Christian Church in 1972. They spent 42 wonderful years together and had two children. Larry worked as a repair specialist at RCA for 34 years. He went on to work at PTS Electronics for an additional ten years until he retired. Larry was involved in his community and was a lifelong church member as well as the Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 466 from 1986-1993 at Little Cincinnati Christian Church. Larry was a skilled craftsman, and enjoyed wood working, making walking sticks, knives, and canes just to name a few. Larry also enjoyed going fishing, gardening especially tomatoes, and going to car shows in his 1965 Chevelle. Larry’s family was the center of his life, and his grandchildren meant the world to him. Larry was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed. Larry is survived by his children, Jeffrey Fender (Rachel), Jennifer Price (Branden); grandchildren, Jordyn Fender, Levi Fender, and Keeley Price; brother-in-law, Bob Carmichael (Rhonda); 1st cousins, Rosetta Clark, Wayne Ayers (Lana) Larry is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Lee (Carmichael) Fender; and by his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Little Cincinnati Christian Church, 11432 IN-54, Bloomfield, IN 47424 with Pastor Ken Osterbrook officiating. Burial will follow at Carmichael Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home and again on Friday at 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
