Leonard K. Trinkle

Leonard K. Trinkle, 87, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Friday September 27, 2024 at the Hearthstone Health Campus, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on April 27, 1937 in Bloomington, Indiana, the son of Edward and Gladys Thelma (Vaughn) Trinkle. Leonard was a 1955 graduate of Bloomington High School South. He married the love of his life, Judith Ann Todd, on October 22, 1955 in Bloomington, Indiana. They were happily married for sixty-eight years. Leonard was the owner and operator of Shields & Trinkle Flooring, on the southside of Bloomington, for over thirty years before retiring in 2002. He was a 50 year member of the Bloomington Masonic Lodge #22, and also a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis. He was also a member of the Shriners, and the American Legion, Burton Woolery Post 18, in Bloomington. Leonard enjoyed spending time with his wife, and for many years boating on Lake Monroe. Upon retirement, they enjoyed spending their winters in Naples, Florida. He also enjoyed playing and winning at euchre, dining out, working around the house, and he especially loved time spent with family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Leonard is survived by his wife, Judith A. Trinkle of Bloomington; his nieces and nephews, Rick; Jill and Charlie Trinkle; Tia Deckard; Gina Riggen; Brenda Morron and Cindy Smale. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gladys Trinkle; his sister, Doynetta Hyde; two brothers Eugene Trinkle and Warren Trinkle. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old St Rd 37 Bloomington. With Jeff Grossnickle officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 2, 2024 and from 11:00 am to service time Thursday October 3, 2024 also at the funeral home.
