Naomi Irene Reeves

Naomi Irene (Pigg) Reeves, 92, of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born on June 14, 1926 in Edwardsport, Indiana; the daughter of Orval Earl and Blanche Emma (Critchfield) Pigg. Naomi graduated from Dugger Union High School in Dugger, Indiana. She married Walder Reeves on May 24, 1947. Naomi worked for RCA for a brief period before becoming a devoted homemaker. She was a member of Clear Creek Christian Church, Effie Dodd Missionary Group, Morning Star Sunday School, The Good Neighbors Homemakers Extension Club, and The Brown County Tractor Club. Naomi cherished her family and friends and the time she spent with them. She enjoyed baking, which lead her to receive the award of Grand Champion Coconut Crème Pie at the Monroe County Fair. She also enjoyed canning, gardening and playing games, especially Dominos. Naomi was an avid volunteer with various organizations that included Clear Creek Elementary, Bloomington High School South Band Boosters, The Girl Scouts, and at Stonecroft Health Campus. Naomi is survived by children, Dallas (Jackie) Reeves, Nedra (Bruce) Demshar, Ranella (Depp) Mason, and Kendall (Stephanie) Reeves; grandchildren, Scott (Emily) Reeves, Kayla (Andrew) Davis, Kirsten (Andy) Millard, Kyle Mason, Jesse Demshar, and Kaden Reeves; great-grandchildren, Ben Reeves, Henry Reeves, Carter Millard, Levi Millard, and Avery Davis; and siblings, Lois Rogers and Phyllis Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 69 years, Walder Reeves; and siblings, Robert Pigg, Margaret Boone, and Evelyn Fry. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Clear Creek Christian Church Life Center, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. Family will also receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington. Memorial contributions may be made to Clear Creek Christian Church.
