Randall Robert Perry

Randall Robert Perry, 71, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023. Randy was born February 12th, 1952, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Robert Eugene Perry and Margaret Amanda (Baugh) Perry. When he was three months old his family moved back to Indiana where he lived the rest of his days. Randy is a proud graduate from the class of Edgewood High School and he always enjoyed reuniting with his class mates over the years. If you know Randy, you know his love for all things in nature. Throughout his life, he always enjoyed music. hunting, fishing, shooting guns, archery and art. Everything he owned was painted camouflage! I n 1975 he met the love of his life, Kathy (Hueston) Perry on a blind date. The two were wed on November 12th, 1977 and enjoyed a little over 43 years together until Kathy's passing in 2021. In 1980, Randy and Kathy had their first and only child, Erin Dawn. But the true loves of their lives were born in 2006 and 2011....the grandbabies, Noah & Maci. There truly wasn't a better man than Randy. If you knew him, you loved him. His hugs, his silliness and ability to come up with silly words. The southern "twang" in his voice. Randy was a long-time member of the Bloomington Archery Club where he won many awards over the years. He spent many years with Big Brothers/Big Sisters where he raised money for their yearly fishing outing and spent that day every summer teaching kids how to fish. He has played guitar and sang in numerous musical groups over the years and more recently would help put together gospel sings at Woodhaven Christian Church, where he was a long-time member. Randy retired from Chase Bank where he did grounds maintenance in 2014 after many years of service. Randy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Erin and Robert Ainsworth, grandchildren Noah Ainsworth and Maci Ainsworth, sister and brother-in-law Regina and Mark Kinser, brother and sister-in-law Roger and Kathy Perry as well as three nieces, one nephew, cousins and friends too numerous to count. Randy was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Kathy Perry and his parents. My Dad was truly one of a kind. He knew everyone! I spent my days as a kid with him in the woods, shooting bow, fishing or visiting family and for that I will forever be grateful. I had a beautiful childhood because of my parents. Noah and Maci had an amazing Papaw who loved to be involved in their lives. He is and will always be loved and missed by those closest to him. Visitation will be 5-7pm Monday, June 26, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old State Road 37, in Bloomington. The family would like to thank SouthernCare Hospice for their care, kindness and compassion in the last 24 hours of Randy's life. A special thank you to Jeremy, Dan, Mandy and Dorothy who truly moved mountains to be sure he had what he needed in his final hours. Randy was grateful and he was peaceful and pain free because of you all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to SouthernCare Hospice or Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Monroe County.
