Robert "Bob" F. Sinn

Robert F. 'Bob' Sinn, 90, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born June 2, 1927 in Bloomington, the son of Earl and Elsie (Harden) Sinn. A graduate of Bloomington High School, in 1945 Bob joined the US Navy. A Navy Veteran of World War II he was stationed on the USS Admiral WS Benson 120. His memberships include the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bob was employed by Indiana University and retired as Superintendent of Printing Services in 1987 after 40 years of service. Bob was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Always 'Captian' of the boat, Bob enjoyed camping and boating on Lake Monroe, working crossword puzzles, cooking, fishing, tinkering in his garage fixing things and watching IU Basketball. His loved ones will miss his smile, dry sense of humor, and quick wit. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Kathleen (Katie), of Bloomington; daughter and son-in-law Earleen (Randall) Cain, Bloomington; daughter Jan Nickless, Ellettsville; son and daughter-in-law Bob (Leslie) Sinn of Leawood,Kansas, daughter-in-law Nancy (Mike) Sinn, Bloomington; sister Carol Kinser, Bloomington, brother-in-law William 'Bill' Sexton, Bloomington, sister-in-law Sierra Webb, Bloomington, sister-in-law JoAnn Hayes, Bloomington, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Shirley Webb, Bloomington, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons Mike Sinn and James Sinn, brother and sister-in-law Don and Deloris Sinn, sister-in-law Hannah Sexton, brother-in-law Dick Kinser, brother-in-law Franklin Hayes, sisters Betty Hamm and Nancy Kerr, two granddaughters, Morgan Clensy and Joni Cain, a grandson, Justin Sinn, and niece, Jill Riley. Celebration of Life services will be held Sunday, 11a.m. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Bloomington. Memorial contributions in Bobs name can be made to the Bloomington Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 S.
