Tyler C. Johnson

Tyler C. Johnson, 45, of Bloomington, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on July 23, 1976 in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Michael A. Johnson and Lynn (Robertson) Johnson. Tyler graduated from Bedford North Lawrence and obtained his associates degree in graphic design. He went on to work Sierra Heating and Cooling, HFI, and most recently, Commercial Services. Tyler was a member of Bloomington Free Methodist Church, where he served as the church Trustee and sang with the worship team. He enjoyed woodworking, cars, especially Volkswagens, collecting cast iron and cookware. Tyler also had a great love for his chickens and loved cooking and baking. Tyler was a loyal disciple of Jesus. He was a dedicated father to his boys, and a loving husband to his wife. Tyler cared for his family and extended families. He truly was a good man, a good son, a good husband, a good father, a good friend, a good neighbor, and a good co-worker. He will forever be missed by those that knew and love him. Tyler is survived by his wife, Brandy (Russell) Johnson; children, Braxton Johnson, Brayson Johnson, and Bryton Johnson; mother, Lynn Johnson; father, Mike (Julia) Johnson; siblings, Scott (Niki) Johnson, Michael (Nancy) Stevens, Corey Stevens, and Sarah (Ryan) Ralston; parents-in-law, Robert and Susan Russell; in-laws, Brettony (Brandon) Anderson, Brent (Crystal) Russell, and Brooke (Matthew) King; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Marilyn Robertson and Noble and Beaumount Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Bloomington Free Methodist Church, 1121 S. Lincoln Street, Bloomington. Burial will follow at Simpson Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the church, and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Masks will be required for those in attendance, as well as a no peanut policy while visiting.
