Wilbur E. Turner

Wilbur E. Turner 94 of Bloomington, Indiana , son of Elizabeth and Hulcee Turner, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2021. He is survived by his four children, Lana Turner Madak of Roseville, CA; Patricia Coller (Don) of Madison, GA; Teresa McAllister (Dave) of Jacksonville, FL; and Michael Turner (Kathy) of Scotland, IN. He leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Kelly Menold (Brian), Andy Stewart; Stephanie Hardin (Heath), Jennifer Meide (Marcus), Jessica Cuetos; Tiffany Harrison (Dan) and Lauren McCaslin (Josh), as well as fifteen great-grandchildren, Morgan Menold, Cooper Menold, Eva Walker; Regan Hardin, Tyson Hardin; Avery Meide, Brady Meide; Anderson Cuetos, Harrison Cuetos; Gabriel a Harrison, Luke Harrison, Timothy Harrison, Hannah Harrison, Samuel Harrison; Issac McCaslin. He is also survived by one sister, Maxine May of Bloomington and one brother, James Turner of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice (Hardy ) Turner and one sister, Betty Turner. After serving in the Navy during World War II on the ship LST 1001, Wilbur came back to Bloomington and married Alice Irene Hardy who would be his wife for the next 63 years. He worked in a managerial capacity for several companies including Coca-Cola Company, Franklin Manufacturing, and General Electric. He was an active member of Clear Creek Christian Church for over 60 years. Friends may call on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37. There will be a Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Dan Harrison officiating beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at the Clear Creek Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Bloomington Hospital and all their staff for their loving concerns and care. Remembrances in honor of Wilbur Turner may be made to Hospice of Bloomington Hospital in care of Allen Funeral Home. Wilbur loved life, family, and friends. He was especially proud that he was able to serve his country during WWII. His faithfulness to God and loyalty to family and country made him beloved by all who knew him.
