Carol Barnhart Cross

Carol Barnhart Cross, 68, of Bloomington passed away on Friday December 3, 2021 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born on May 19, 1953 at Scotts Air Force Base, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Marjorie (Duncan) Barnhart. Carol was a 1971 graduate of Bloomington High School and attended Lincoln College in Lincoln , Illinois. She worked for Bloomington Animal Care and Control animal shelter and Delilah's Pet Shop for many years and worked as an office assistant at Batchelor Middle School in Bloomington. Carol was a member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Carol was known for her love for her pets and animals, music, working puzzles, reading, watching TV Crime Dramas, show jumping with her horse Ranger when she was younger, and she especially loved her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Carol leaves behind her son, Jared Cross of Bloomington; her father, Frank (Pat) Barnhart of Bloomington; her fiancé, Angel S Rivera Jr of Bloomington; her brother, David (Linda) Barnhart of Ohio; a sister, Julie (Tony) Abel of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Barnhart; her husband, Robert Cross; two infant sons, Jared Cross and Danny Cross. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Friday December 10, 2021 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S, Old St Rd 37 Bloomington. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 PM to service time at the funeral home. Cremation Rites have been accorded. in lieu of memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Monroe County Humane Association or Pets Alive.
