Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Hunckler

September 12, 1951 - April 15, 2022

Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Hunckler, 70, of Bloomington passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the IU Health Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born on September 12, 1951 in Bloomington, Indiana, the daughter of Munson Ward and Dorothy Marie (Rogers) Shelton. She was a 1969 graduate of Smithville High School and attended Vincennes University. Cindy worked over 45 years in the medical field as an office manager for Dr. Timothy Habbe and IU Health Southern Indiana Physicians Neurosurgery as well as a receptionist for the IU Speech and Hearing Clinic. Cindy loved life and was passionate about making the most of everything that came her way. She loved animals, antiques, decorating, outdoor activities, gardening, and watching sports (especially the Chicago Cubs, IU Basketball and Oregon Ducks Football.) Always a pillar of strength, she loved her family fiercely and will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Cindy is survived by her sons, Matthew Wayne Hunckler of Columbus, Ohio; Aaron Michael (Jennifer) Hunckler of Bloomington; David Russell (Amanda) Hunckler of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Damon; Kaden; Colton and Blake; one brother, Christopher Ward (Sandy) Shelton of Washington, Indiana; one niece, Kristen “Petie” Hughes and her sons, Thomas and Brandon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Munson and Dorothy Shelton, and her brother, Anthony Wayne Shelton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St Rd 37 Bloomington, with Christopher Shelton Officiating. Burial will follow at Clover Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, April 22, 2022 and from 10:00am to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Simon Cancer Center or the Monroe County Humane Society. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
