    Cynthia Carole Johnson

    January 20, 1949 - March 27, 2022

Our loving mother, sister and wife Cynthia Carole Johnson, 73 of Bloomington Indiana passed away Sunday March 27, 2022. Born in Gardiner Maine on January 20, 1949 to Laurier and Jeanette Bonenfant. Cindy was a Navy Veteran and served her Country from 1967-1969, and a civil servant for the Navy for over 24 years. During that time, she earned her Bachelors in Accounting from Midland College and her Masters in Arts from Notre Dame University. Cindy enjoyed traveling with her husband Bill and was an avid scrapbooker. You could often find her in her craft room making memory books from her many travels and holding classes for neighbors and friends on creating memories through scrap booking. . Cindy was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Ellettsville. Throughout her life she was an active member of the Catholic community as a Eucharistic minister, leader of bible studies, teaching adult Confirmation classes, and a reader of the liturgy. Cindy along with her husband were patrons of many charitable organizations such as Unbound, a Catholic based non-profit organization focused on the worlds underserved communities, assisted with the Haiti relief fund, and her local community through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Preceded in death by her parents and her sister Patricia Buckmore. Surviving family includes; her husband William Johnson; her siblings Nancy Bonenfant, Jacqueline Roelands, Lianne Ramsey and Richard Bonenfant; her three children Danetta Carey, Tracey Cox, and Aaron Cox; her grandchildren Gary Driver III, Ariel Driver, Zachary Cox, Nickolas Cox, Kortney Kinley, Gage Baker, Roan Evans, Aiden Lee, Alijah Cox, Zane Cox; and her 3 great-grandchildren. Per Cindy’s wishes there will be a private memorial service on March 31st. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Cindy to IU Hospice House and St. John’s Catholic Church.
