Deberah Cummings

Deberah Cummings, "Mama Deb", 68 of Bloomington, IN passed away January 15, 2022 at IU Health Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born April 10, 1953 to Dwight W. and Esther Pauline "Pat" (Stone-Huddleston) Hillenburg in Bloomington, IN. Debbie had a life full of love, friends and family. She spent over 20 years working and retired from Cook Medical where she had many dear friends. She took an early retirement from the wire guides area to spend her final years with the love of her life and husband of 38 years, Harry "Steve" Cummings. Debbie and Steve worked hard and built a wonderful life together for their family. They had a large family and she had a way to make every single person feel special. In her younger years she enjoyed tent camping with horses, working in the garden, and listening to music in her '69 Camaro. Her interests didn't change a lot later in life, but they did get more comfortable. She still enjoyed camping only now in a travel trailer with grandchildren. The garden has gotten smaller over the years and the music was in the mornings with a cup of coffee watching birds with Steve from the dining room table. She is survived by her children; Michael O. (Kisha) Glasscock, Toni J. (David) Gray, Stephen E. Cummings, and Jessica L. (Eric) Richardson. Her brothers; Buck Hillenburg and Joe (Diane) Hillenburg. Her sisters; Teresa (Dean) Crouch and Raydean Chandler. In life, Debbie battled with health. She is now at peace and with her loving husband. So many people loved her, and she will be missed by a very large family that includes 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Steve" Cummings; her parents; and her grandson, Dakota S.H. Cummings. A funeral service will be held on January 21, 2022 at 6:30 pm at the Allen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4155 S. Old St Rd 37. Visitation will be on January 21, 2022 from 2:00 pm to time of services at the funeral home.
