Dennis Lee Johnson

October 13, 1962 - February 10, 2022

Dennis Lee Johnson, 59, of Bloomington passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis with his family by his side. He was born on October 13, 1962 in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Ronald L. Johnson and Effie I. (Branum) Johnson. He attended Edgewood High School in Ellettsville, Indiana. Dennis began building log cabins at a very young age. He grew to love the process of building a structure and being able to stand back and look at the finished product and be proud of his accomplishments. He worked for General Construction and Equipment for many years, building commercial structures, and he also built several custom homes with his father. Dennis also drove a truck for Ben Tire Distributors and A+ Performance after he finished his career in construction. Dennis is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda (Best) Johnson, his daughter, Lindsay (Grant) Fowler and his grandson, Kenny Fowler; his mother, Effie Johnson, his father, Ron (Judy) Johnson and two brothers, Dale (Lynn) Johnson and David (Mindy) Johnson. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37 have been entrusted with arrangements. A private burial will take place later this spring at Clear Creek Cemetery.
