    Mildred Clotha Moore

    April 14, 1927 - February 5, 2021

Mildred Clotha Moore went to be with the Lord from her residence of 71 years on Friday, February 5, 2021. Being one of six children, she was born to parents, Dresden and Sylvia (Wray) Hillenburg, in Brown County, Indiana on April 14, 1927. Prior to being a graduate of Smithville School, she worked by special assignment in the secret room at RCA to help our country with the war effort. Upon graduation, she returned to work at RCA until her retirement of 33 years. She did child care along with her daughter Glenna. After that she became a school crossing guard for Monroe County Schools. Her posts were at University School and Templeton Elementary. Regardless of the weather, she was always there. She retired at the age of 90. Clotha was a strong, hard working woman. She raised four children. Thanks to her daughter, Teresa, she became a world traveler visiting many countries and going on cruises. One of her favorite places is Alaska. At the age of 80, she rode a dog sled. She got to visit Dresden, Germany on her 90th birthday, the homeland of her grandparents. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Paynetown Church, Assembly of God Church, Free Methodist Church and a contributor to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children. She believed in God’s love is for all people. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Michael Terrell, and a daughter, Glenna Faye Sparks. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Eugene Hillenburg (Hester), Earl Hillenburg (Helen), and Ernest Hillenburg (Grace), and two sisters, Nola Faye Frye (Tilford) and Henrietta Axsom. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Larry Butcher of Ellettsville and Teresa Terrell and David Held of Bloomington; two grandsons, Joseph and Joshua Butcher (Chelsea) and four great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Gavin, Vevionne and Allyanna, along with several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington, Indiana. Due to the virus, visitation will be on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. by calling Teresa at 812-391-9968. A private funeral will follow with burial at Clear Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Les Rovenstine officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that family and friends say a prayer and count their blessings.
