Peggy Mangold died at Denver Hospice near her Denver, Colorado home on February 13, 2022 at the age of 89, almost one year after her devastating diagnosis of ALS. She was born Peggy Burks (Denney) in 1932 in Monroe County, Indiana on her family farm. She graduated from high school in Bloomington, Indiana in 1950, married her husband of 67 years (Robert) in 1955, and they moved to Denver in 1960. She was a dedicated mother and friend, and is survived by her husband, daughters Lisa and Michelle/Mickey (Andy Herb), and granddaughter Zoe (Nikola Mäkelä). Peggy is best known for her contributions to the contemporary arts in Colorado where she owned and operated one of Denver's award-winning art galleries. She spent countless hours supporting emerging artists and facilitating national and international exposure for more established artists, including her husband. Her hobbies included spending time with her close friends and family, reading, cooking, gardening, mushroom-hunting, walking in nature, and supporting her local community. She was a committed volunteer for many political causes, her children's schools, and the fine art scene in Denver. She was proud to be a Hoosier! Indiana Funeral Services handled by Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington on Saturday February 26, 2022 at 2 pm at the family graveyard on Denney Rd. Bloomington, IN. A gathering will follow at Oliver Winery at 3pm. Denver Memorial Services handled by The Natural Funeral: Saturday March 12, 3pm, Arvada Center for the Arts The family asks that any donations in honor of Peggy go to the Arvada Center for the Arts.
