Robert L. "Bob" Cassidy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert Lee Cassidy, 83, of Bloomington passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on July 27, 1939 in Bloomington, Indiana the son of Howard and Vivian (Whitaker) Cassidy. Bob was a 1957 graduate of Bloomington High School. He married the love of his life Gloria June Bunch on March 16, 1962 in Bloomington, Indiana they were happily married 60 years. Bob was a US Navy Veteran. After he was discharged from the Navy he worked for RCA as a repairman for nine years, and then as a clerk for the US Postal Service for 34 years before retiring in 1999. He was also a at home mechanic he enjoyed working on cars. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post # 18 in Bloomington. He loved everything about cars, and enjoyed watching racing and NASCAR, Bob especially loved his family and spending time with his family at their weekly Sunday lunches, He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Bob is survived by his wife, Gloria J Cassidy of Bloomington; two daughters, Alicia (Jeff) Hamilton of Bloomington; Kimberly Cassidy of Bloomington; five grandchildren Bret Stewart; John “Rob” Stewart; Brooke Stewart; Brandon Robertson; Brittany Robertson thirteen great grandchildren, Makenzie; Sarah; Audley; Faith; Haley; Eliza; Cayden; Christian; Evie; Alice; Andie; Marleigh and Zaralyn; three great great grandchildren, Emmie; Gatlin and Maisyn; three brothers, Larry (Connie) Cassidy; Jerry (Phillis) Cassidy; Ronald Cassidy all of Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Vivian Cassidy; two brothers, Walter Burton Cassidy and Donald Cassidy; and one sister Betty Jo Fitzgerald. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
