Sandra (Sandy) Hacker lost her long time battle with COPD, Thursday night, September 23, 2021. She was born in Newark, Indiana and graduated from Eastern High School in 1967. She worked at Indiana University most of her life with her last position being in the Indiana University Alumni Association Mailroom. She married the love of her life and former high school sweetheart Stephen Hacker in 1980, who predeceased her. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her husband Steve fishing, deer and mushroom hunting. She missed him greatly after his untimely death. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whom she doted over. Sandy was always there to help anyone who needed it at any time. Before Steve's passing he and Sandy were member of the American Legion Honor Guard and took this position very seriously. Sandy leave behind daughters Natasha (Chris) Pointer of Spencer and Wendi (Damon) Watts of Bloomington; grandchildren Thad (Ki Harris) of Bloomington, Antigoni (Stephen) of Bloomington, Lucas Swank of Spencer, Noah Ketchem of Bloomington, Lauren Swank of Spencer, and Heidi Ketchem of Bloomington, as well as her half brother Norman Doty of Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Harold Brinson, and a half sister. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37 is handling the arrangements and online condolences, photos and memories may be shared with family and friends at www.allencares.com.
