Sarah A. (Chambers) Deckard Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sarah A. (Chambers) Deckard, 97, of Bloomington, IN passed away on Tuesday February 8, 2022. She was born on July 21, 1924 in Monroe County, Indiana, the daughter of William and Bertha (Sexton) Chambers. Sarah married Ralph V Deckard on July 21, 1942 in Bloomington, Indiana. They were happily married sixty six years. She was a homemaker and was very devoted to her family. Sarah also worked as a cook for Bloomington High School South before retiring in 1975. Sarah was a member of the Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, going fishing, camping and cooking. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Sarah is survived by her three children, David (Linda) Deckard; Steve (Linda) Deckard and Marla (Jim) Gray all of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Kelli Deckard; Stacie (Mark) Torline; Jodie (Scott) Latiolais; Levi (Michelle Wood) Gray; J.D. (Allie Gardner) Gray; two great grandchildren, Jenna Torline; Abigail Latiolais; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph who passed away on December 24, 2008; one grandson George Wayne Deckard and twelve siblings. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Monday, February 14, 2022 at Clear Creek Cemetery.
