    Virginia Rose Stone

    July 10, 1923 - February 3, 2022

Virginia Rose Stone crossed into the kingdom of heaven on Thursday, February 3rd at the young age of 98. Born July 10th, 1923, in Gibson County to Elizabeth (Beuligmann) and Charles McDole on their family farm. She is survived by her children: Patricia (Tim)Thompson, Joseph Mark (Patricia) Stone, Richard (Debbie) Stone, Mary Beth (George) Osbun, Sharon Lucas, Andrew (Connie) Stone and leaving behind 15 grandkids, 11 great-grandkids and 1 great-great grandchild. She was greeted in heaven by those that went before, husband Mark Stanley Stone, children: Shirley Calvert, Paul Stone, James Kent Stone, Marsha Marie Stone, granddaughter Angela Marie Pavey and a very large extended family/friends. Virginia and her husband Mark made a living by owned Mark’s Food Market for 60 years in the Bloomington, Columbus, and Oolitic areas. Then later owned Mr. Steak Restaurant in Bloomington. Their joy was camping all over the east coast, being with their kids and grand-kids, and weekends with friends. In retirement, Virginia loved volunteering at St. Charles Catholic Church and school, attending Yoga classes at the YMCA, or she could be found at IU Auditorium watching a show. We will always remember her for love of family, devotion to God and the church, and kindness towards those she met. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2222 E. 3rd Street, Bloomington. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bloomington Animal Shelter, YMCA of Monroe County, or IU Health Hospice. Online condolences, photos, and memories may be shared with family and friends at www.allencares.com
