Adam Michael Hofman

Adam Michael Hofman, age 43 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning at IU Health Bloomington. He was born October 26, 1975 in Blue Island Illinois to Bruce Hofman of Blue Island and Gayle Schmidt of Blue Island. He was a 1994 graduate of Bloom Trail High School. He volunteered at Esda of Sauk Village from 1993 to 2004. He married Angela (Murphy) Hofman on November 6, 2004 in Bedford Indiana. He worked at INDOT as a highway technician. He was the owner of AMH repair. He was a member of Stoneridge Baptist Church in Bloomington. Adam was a joy for all who knew him. He loved his life, wife and the Lord. He had a gift for working on small engines. He enjoyed collecting knives and swords. He loved spending time with his wife/ best friend and their fur babies. He was always encouraging, supportive, kind and generous. Adam lived life to the fullest thru simple pleasures. He had an uncanny way to reach people in a deep and positive way. He is survived by his wife Angela Hofman, his parents Bruce Hofman, Lori Castine, Dave and Gayle Schmidt, sister Heather (Chad) Smetters, brothers Eric (Katherine) Schmidt, Paul Schmidt, nephews Sean Lair, Justin Jones, nieces Brianna Jones, April and Adeline Schmidt, aunts Carol Kolbiskas, Debbie Hofman, uncle Richard Hofman and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Edward Goetz, Mildred (Trambino) Goetz, Algy Hofman, Fern Elizabeth White, Henry Schmidt, Janet (Anderson) Schmidt and mother in law Carolyn (Crane) Banks. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held an hour before the service on Sunday from 1:00PM until the time of the service at 2:00PM.
