Amy Zore

Amy Zore, of Ellettsville, IN, died February 14, 2014, at Bloomington Hospital. She was 75. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Zore, Ellettsville, IN, son, Chris Mount and his wife, Gaylene, Evansville, IN, grandson, Bryan Mount and his wife, Sarah, Poseyville, IN, and great-grandsons Ryder Mount and Ronny Mount. Amy was born in Peru, IN, but grew up in Bloomington, graduating from University School in 1956. Many of those U-School classmates remained close lifelong friends. Her career in travel began as a flight attendant with North Central Airlines. It evolved into a business career when Salsbury Travel Services was opened in 1968. She and her father owned and ran the business together for 20 years. It was her chosen career that allowed her to fulfill her dream to travel. She was fortunate to have visited most of the world's continents. She walked the Great Wall of China, visited the Taj Mahal, enjoyed a tented African Safari, and made multiple trips to Europe. Many of these adventures she shared with her close friend, Rita Grunwald. They were experiences that created memories she spoke about and cherished her entire life. In her retirement, she lovingly cared for her parents, Cyril and Kay Salsbury, until their deaths. It was in her retirement that she found her son, Chris Mount, who had been placed for adoption at birth. It was a reunion that resulted in a very close and rewarding relationship for all involved. She was thankful and proud that her family had been, finally, completed. She enjoyed the addition of a grandson and, eventually, two great-grandsons to her family, and was very happy to have had the chance to meet and know them all. Her family would like to thank the numerous medical staff at the IU Medical Health/Bloomington Hospital for the outstanding care that they gave our mother, especially to Dr. Wallskog and Dr. Kasza. You all are amazing. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 5pm-7pm, with a memorial service immediately following, at First Christian Church, corner of Kirkwood and Washington, downtown Bloomington.
