Betty L. Boyer

Betty L. Boyer, age 82 of Bloomington passed away Monday morning February 4, 2013 at Golden Living Center. She was born May 31, 1930 in Bloomington to Vada and Bertha Heltonburg Cracraft. Betty was a 1948 graduate of Bloomington High School, was a member of Soul's Harbor Apostolic Church and worked for more than 25 years at the Ellettesville IGA. Married on Christmas Eve 1952 to her late husband Melvin Earl Boyer, Betty and Melvin celebrated many a wedding anniversary with her in laws Bob and Pat Boyer before Melvin's death in 2008. She will be remembered for her ever present smile, her love of cards and anything surrounding her family. She cherished time with her kids, grandkids and other family members. Betty leaves behind her daughter Julie Shertzer and husband Bryan of Bloomington; son Ron Boyer of Mishawaka, Indiana; son Bill Boyer of Bloomington; daughter Donna Anderson and husband Jim of Apple Valley, Minnesota; grandchildren David Boyer of Mishawaka, Amanda Cahatwin and Reo of Plainfield, Christopher Boyer of Mishawka, Annalee Boyer also of Mishawaka, Leah Boyer of Hartsville, Indiana, Lindsay Boyer and Jerad of Hope, Indiana, Dustin Shertzer of Bloomington, Kaylee Shertzer of Bloomington, Kaleb Anderson, and Kortnee Anderson both of Apple Valley, Minnesota. Also surviving Betty are her great grandchild Robbie Chatwin,and a sister Wilma Jean Cornwell of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mildred Meadows, and brothers Vasal and Russell Cracraft as well as Thelma, Delores and Clovis Cracraft who all died in early childhood. Funeral services for Betty will be held Thursday February 7, 2013 at 11:00AM at Soul's Harbor Apostolic Church. Brother David Butcher will preside. Betty will be laid to rest next to Melvin in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday February 6, 2013 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37 as well as from 10:00AM until the time of the service at the church on Thursday.
