Christopher Lee Case

Christopher Lee Case was born in Bloomington, Indiana on February 10th, 1986, the beloved son of Patti Case. He died on February 8th, 2023, just two days shy of his 37th birthday. He shared his birthday with his Grandpa Joe. Chris played youth football and football at Jackson Creek and Bloomington South through his freshman year. Baseball, however, was his passion and he played Little League at Smithville and moved up to Babe Ruth at Winslow. He was on the All Star team every year of his baseball journey which lasted until he aged out of Babe Ruth. As his friend told him Wednesday night while we were all at his bedside willing him to live, his hitting might have needed a little help but he was good at bunting and a heck of a 1st baseman. He loved cheering on the IU Hoosiers from home or at the games and was an avid NASCAR fan. He and his buddies enjoyed playing golf and he could often be found traveling with the guys to Florida for their annual golf trip. While Chris struggled to find his niche in the work world, he was an extremely hard and conscientious worker. The love Chris had for his family and friends was strong. He was truly a loyal best friend to so many, but there was no one he loved or admired most than his mom and grandma. They were his world and so too was he theirs. Chris had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh that could make anyone smile or laugh. The care and concern he had for others was something that made him dear to everyone. His love for all of his nieces and nephews who were actually the children of his cousins and the children of his closest friends was phenomenal. The children loved their “Uncle Chris” and when the families were all together Chris could be found on the floor under a pile of children having the time of his life. Chris is survived by his mother, Grandma Edna Case, Uncle Steve (Aunt Ned) Case, Cousins Dan Case and son Riley, Michelle (John Thornton) Natalie, Joe (Jennifer) Natalie and children Isaac and Maeve and his beloved fur babies Reno and Bugatti (Boo). He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Joe Case, special Great Uncle Dale Patterson and numerous other Great Aunts and Uncles. Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old State Road 37 in Bloomington. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday at the funeral home, with Doug McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Hendricksville.
