Delores K. Hueston(Kinser)

Delores K. Hueston (Kinser) passed on Sunday, April 19, 2026; she was born on October 15, 1934 in Norman, Indiana. Her parents were Mary and Zelbert Kinser. Delores is preceded in death by her parents and both siblings: Robert E. (Bob) Kinser, and Cornelia (Avahnelle) Combs. Delores attended Smithville High School in the late 1940s and married her husband Woody Hueston 76 years ago, in 1950. They had three children—Rozanne Page, Deneise Self Hueston, and Woodrow S. Hueston (Debbie). Delores treated her nephew, Herb (Denice) Kinser as her second son. Delores is survived by her loving husband Woody and all of her children and grandkids. In her early years of marriage she and Woody spent countless hours with Woody’s sister, Lily Sharon and her husband, Roger Mahan. The four of them would pop in the car and go on many, many adventures together. Delores loved all her children, especially the little ones. She often took care of her grandchildren when they were small. Every generation of grand-, great-, and great-greatgrandchildren lit up her life. These delights of Delores’s are: Children of Rozie—Linzy and Lauren Sharp Page [Lauren and her husband Jason have two daughters Lily and Zuri); child of Deneise—Christian Rumple [who has daughters Seon-Jae and Jaelyn]. The children of Woodrow S., with wife Debbie are: Sarah Hueston (who has three kids, Hannah [with daughters Brynlee and Emma Grace]; Jaime; and Mason); Woody and Debbie’s daughter Amy Hutchinson has, with her husband Luke, two children (Maylee and Owen); and Woody and Debbie’s son Kevin. Delores doted on all these babies from the moment of their birth. During her decades of working life, Delores was employed by various local firms as a bookkeeper, a vocation she greatly enjoyed. In the early1990s, Delores retired from Monroe County Bank when her husband Woody retired from his job at the city. Woody and Delores were also 50 plus years members of the Moose Lodge, where they enjoyed the comradery of friends and family through volunteering as Moose ambassadors, dancing, and of course Friday night bingo. One of Delores’ pastime were her bird watching during all seasons. One could find her on her back porch not only viewing, but looking up the varieties of birds visiting her back yard. She was especially proud of her white peonies that popped up in the spring. During retirement, both Woody and Delores were blessed to spend much time with their extended, loving, kind family. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff and there were so many individuals that we could not name everyone from for both: Hearthstone Nursing Facility and Southern Care Hospice. Everyone was exceptional kind and supportive to both Delores and Woody. Funeral services for Delores will be held Thursday afternoon, April 23, 2026 at 1:00PM at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37. Burial will follow in the Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will also be held Thursday April 23, 2026 from 11:00AM in the morning until the time of the service at 1:00PM.
