Edmund Ross "Ted" Hall

Edmund Ross (Ted) Hall, died unexpectedly on March 8, 2023 at home in his sleep. Ted was born February 24, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky to Edmund Hall and Marian Ross Hall. He graduated from the University of Louisville and completed a second degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He taught High School Chemistry and Business, followed by work at the Indiana University Cyclotron as a technician and jack of all trades. Ted was a man who wore many hats during his exceptional lifetime. A loyal friend, he was also generous with his time supporting many individuals and organizations through his volunteer work. He was lifelong blood donor to the American Red Cross, a founding member of the Bloomington Old Time Music and Dance Group which just celebrated its 50th year, and was still dancing the week before he died. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and IU Women's Basketball. Ted was a devoted father to his two stepchildren, Rowan Tansey and Sarah Hedriana. To cherish his memory, Ted is survived by his loving wife@ Linda Tansey Hall, his stepchildren Rowan Muir Tansey and Sarah Tansey Hedriana (Herman), his step grandson Liam Hedriana and step granddaughter Polo Hedriana (Britney), brother John Hall (Jenny Broome), sister Eleanor Hall, and Michael Tansey, father of Ted's stepchildren and loyal friend. Ted's many friends in Bloomington and beyond will definitely miss his presence. Despite mild cognitive impairment, Ted lived a full and self-directed life with the support of his wife Linda and Dayna Thompson, ADRS Educator and her Caregiver Spouse Support Group. Per his wishes, Ted was cremated at Allen Funeral Home. He requested no service or public gathering. To honor his memory, donations may be made to the IU Alzheimer's and Dementia Resource Service.
