Ivan Lee Carmichael

Ivan Lee Carmichael, 86, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on March 9, 2018 surrounded by his family at IU Bloomington Health Hospital. Ivan was born January 14, 1932 in Stanford, Indiana along with his older brother, Warren Carmichael to the late Carl and Ora (Burch) Carmichael. He Graduated from Bloomington High School in 1950 and married the love of his life Lois Patricia (Headley) Carmichael a year later on June 8, 1951 at Mt. Gilead Church in Unionville, Indiana. Ivan and Lois moved to their current home in November of 1968. They shared 66 wonderful years together. Ivan was a Specifier at Otis Elevator for 32 years before retirement. Ivan enjoyed traveling with his motor home and had visited 49 states throughout his life. Ivan loved hunting and fishing almost as much as he loved spending time with his family, who were the center of his life. Ivan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed. Ivan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lois Patricia (Headley) Carmichael; his children, Janet Lee Carmichael (Allen Medley), Jack Dale Carmichael (Karen), and Jeffrey Ivan Carmichael (Vickie); grandchildren, Benny CW Lackey (Sheryl), Bradley Lackey, Jessica Carron (Bradley), Jason Carmichael (Amanda), Harrison Carmichael, Jonas Carmichael; great-grandchildren, Josh Johnson (Michelle), Alyssa Johnson, Kirk Carron, Alexis Carron, Jacob Carmichael, and Elisa Carmichael; step-grandchildren, Amanda Zenthoeffer (Eric), Elizabeth Moore (Jeremy) step-great-grandchildren, Zoey Zenthoeffer, Alivia Moore, Ella Claire Moore. Ivan is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Warren Carmichael. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Little Cincinnati Christian Church. 11432 IN-54, Bloomfield, IN 47424 with Jefferey Carmichael officiating. Burial to follow at Greene County Chapel Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Allen Funeral home and crematory, 4155 S. Old State Rd 37., Bloomington, IN 47714 and again from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
