John Michael Walker

John Michael Walker, 67, of Bloomington passed away on Wednesday December 6, 2023 at the IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. John was born on April 25, 1956 in Bedford, Indiana and was the son of Thomas Armstrong and Betty Joann (Greene) Walker. He graduated from Bloomington High School South in 1974 and attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute. He went on to graduate from Ivy Tech in Bloomington with an associate degree in Drafting. He married the love of his life Sabrina Lynn Croy on July 14, 1979, in Bloomington, Indiana. They were happily married forty-four years. John’s professional life started at McArdle International in Bloomington as a part sales representative for twenty-five years before going to Speedway International as a sales representative for fifteen-years. He then went on to Sternberg International for five years before retiring in 2018. John was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing, boating, music, model trains, and slot car racing. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. John is survived by his wife, Sabrina Walker of Noblesville; his children, Anthony (Christie) Walker of Bloomington, Kyle (Heather Sutherlin) Walker of Bloomington, Amanda (Adam) Garrett of Brownsburg; six grandchildren, Caleb walker, Trevor Arnett-Walker, Bailey Jacobs, Ella Garrett, Genevieve Garrett, and Theodore Garrett; his sister, Mary (Randy) Thacker of Smithville; a nephew, Tommy (Ashley) Thacker of Harrodsburg; a great nephew, Forrest Thacker. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Joann Walker, and his sister, Kimberly Sue Walker. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Springville Cemetery West located at 378 Bedford Street, Springville, Indiana. A reception will be held directly after at Red Men Hall, which is located at 7407 South Sanders Main Street, Smithville, IN.
