Nancy S. Waldon

Nancy S. Waldon, 70, of Bloomington formerly of Heltonville passed away on September 20, 2023 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital due to complications of pulmonary fibrosis. She was born November 10, 1952 in Bedford, Indiana (Lawrence County) the daughter of Elmer C. and Sylvia (Bailey) George. Nancy was a 1970 graduate of Heltonville High School. She married the love of her life George E. Waldon on January 11, 1975 in Bloomington, Indiana. They were happily married for forty-eight years. Nancy was the Business Manager and Budget Coordinator for the IU School of Music for over forty years before retiring. She was a member of Smithville Christian Church. Nancy was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her husband fishing in the Boundary Waters, mushroom hunting in Missouri, watching Reds baseball, hanging out and shopping with her best friend Joan. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s many sporting events. Nancy was very caring and loving and was loved by her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed. Nancy is survived by her husband, George Waldon of Bloomington; her son, Tracy (Kim) Waldon of Bloomington; her grandchildren, Nicholas Waldon; Brooklyn Waldon; and Lucas Waldon all of Bloomington; her sister, Sarah Lou (Fred) Norman of Heltonville; and an array of caring family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Sylvia George and her brother, Steve George. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Allen Funeral Home 4155 S. Old St Rd 37 Bloomington. With Rev. Tom Ellsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Mundell Cemetery in Heltonville. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Allen Funeral Home and Wednesday September 27, 2023 from 10:00am to service time also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smithville Christian Church. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
