Rachel (Doyle) Torres

Rachel (Doyle) Torres, 38, of Bloomington passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Rachel was born on August 15, 1982 in Brazil, Indiana the daughter of William A. Doyle and Mary M. Landes. She was a 2000 graduate of Northview North High School in Brazil, Indiana, and a Graduate of Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington where she received her Associates Degree in Nursing. Rachel worked for the Council for Domestic Abuse (CODA) in Terre Haute for several years, and then after nursing school for Community Health East in Indianapolis, she then went to work at Centerstone in Bloomington as a clinical nurse, and then she went to worked for IU Health Bloomington Hospital where she was still employed. She married the love of her life Lowell Ray Torres on March 11, 2006 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rachel was a member of Northside Church of Christ as a child and a proud member of the Raptor Clan at Lothlorien Nature Sanctuary. She enjoyed going to the beach, vacationing at the Outer Banks, camping, and especially enjoyed spending time with her friends getting all dressed and glammed up to dance or sing karaoke. She loved her family and spending time with her children doing crafts and crocheting with her daughter and making her husband rub her feet. She was a people person, always with a smile, hug and kind word for anyone; she was very compassionate and always had a shoulder for anyone, even complete strangers, to lean on. She had planned on getting her Nurse Practitioner's license to open up a birth center in Bloomington for at risk pregnant women and mothers. She will be so incredibly missed by all who loved and knew her. Rachel is survived by her husband, Lowell Torres of Bloomington; three children, Gabriel Torres, Nyxie Torres and stepson William Risk; her mother Mary (David Schuetz) Landes of Brazil, Indiana; her father, Bill (Sharon) Doyle of Bloomington; her brother, Jackson (Keely) Doyle of Raleigh N.C.; her mother-in-law, Laura Torres of Brazil, Indiana; and her heart sisters Krystle, Eva, Lily, Jill and so many others. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Irvin and Mildred Landes; Jack and Katherine Doyle. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date when we can all get together safely. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
