Robert Hugh Ferguson Jr.

Robert Hugh Ferguson, Jr. (Bob) was born in Youngstown, Ohio on July 6, 1935, to the late Robert Ferguson and Grace Pearson Ferguson. He left us May 25, 2018. The birth and death of this great man, however, is not nearly as relevant as all the days in between that he lived his life to the fullest. Those of us blessed to know Bob can say without a doubt that our lives are enriched because of him. Family and friends will fondly remember Bob as a loving husband and father, distinguished businessman, humorist, passionate artist, avid reader, outdoor enthusiast, amateur athlete, fashionista, champion of social consciousness and broker of great advice. For example, “In life, you will find people you can count on. You count on them because they do what they say they are going to do. You want to be one of those kinds of people.” Bob showed us all by example. He attended Bowling Green University where he graduated in Business. Bob retired in 2004 after decades as a corporate executive in the retail industry. Twelve years ago, he and his wife Deanie settled down in Bloomington, Indiana. He was an active member of the Monroe County YMCA, the Northside Exchange Club and the Bloomington Watercolor Society. Bob was preceded in death by his brother John Richard Ferguson (Janine) of Alexandria, Virginia. He leaves behind to celebrate his life, Deanie Ferguson, his beloved wife of 44 years, eldest son Robert Hugh Ferguson III, daughter Tammy Lee Smith (Jim), youngest son James David Ferguson (Teresa), brother-in-law Fred Grabner (Nancy), grandchildren Nevin Todd Smith (Mary), Charles and Erica Franklin, great grandchildren Nevin Smith, Jr., Nathan Smith, cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws, Godchildren and Chloe their energetic pooch. Cremation is entrusted to Allen Funeral Home and Crematory.
