Ruby Joyce (Jacobs) Dyer

Ruby Joyce (Jacobs) Dyer, 86, of Bloomington, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 24, 1936 in Monroe County, Indiana the daughter of Earl and Beulah (Devine) Jacobs. Ruby was a 1954 graduate Bloomington High School. She married the love of her life Henry Lee Dyer on June 26, 1954 in Bloomington, Indiana and they were happily married sixty-eight years. She was a homemaker and a business owner of Little Guy’s and Gal’s Clothing Store. Ruby was a member of Highland Village Pentecostal Church. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working outside in her yard, taking care of her flowers and gardening, and cleaning. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Ruby is survived by her son, Rev. Scott (Jeanette) Dyer; her daughter Susan (Rev. David) Rutter; her grandchildren, Cara Dyer; Shane (Carrie) Stremming; Amy Murray; Shannon (Reuben) Vandeventer; Stacey (Darren) Fuller; Shawna Deckard; Shanda (Jared) Taylor; David Rutter Jr; Great Grandchildren, Landon (Ana) Stremming; Jacob Stremming; Reagan Murray; Adayah Murray; Pierson Murray; Hailey Vandeventer; Hannah Vandeventer; Hayden Vandeventer; Darren Fuller Jr; Chandler Wise; Caleb Deckard; Kendall Deckard; Kendrick Eberhardt; Mason Taylor and Maya Taylor; one great great granddaughter, Kamille Stremming; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Beulah Jacobs; her husband, Henry Lee Dyer; her daughter, Tammy Stremming Jeffress; and four brothers, Leo Jacobs; Raymond Jacobs; Joseph Jacobs and Robert Jacobs; sisters, Bonnie Hall; Mary Alice Hodurski Chitty and an Infant Sister. A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Highland Village Pentecostal Church with Rev. Andrew King Officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with service following on Sunday October 8, 2023 at the church. A graveside service will be held on Monday October 9, 2023 at 11:00am at Clear Creek Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Highland Village Church Building Fund. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 S. Old State Rd. 37 in Bloomington have been entrusted with arrangements.
