Sharon G. White

Sharon G. White, 77, of Bloomington passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024 at her home. She was born on December 27, 1946 in Gary, Indiana the daughter of Victor and Ruby Apolzan. Her Parents and her sister, Vicki preceded her in death. Sharon is survived by her husband, E.G. White; son Brett (Heather) White; and their two beautiful children Bo and Baylee. She became a Mimi which pleased her to no end. Also, she is survived by several cousins. She is a graduate of Merrillville High School and Indiana University. She was an employee of the Indiana University Foundation for over forty years and retired as the Director of Personnel. Sharon and E.G. have been longtime members of the First United Methodist Church in Bloomington. She served the congregation on many committees over the years, most recently on the Governing Board. She also served on several Indiana United Methodist Conference Committees. She was also a member of the United Women of faith. She was past president of the Tri Kappa and was active for many years with the Thrift Shop in Bloomington. Also being a Pink Lady at the Bloomington Hospital was another way for her to support the community along with the Boy’s and Girl’s Club. Sharon was a life member of the Indiana University Alumni Association along with supporting the Indiana University Foundation annual giving programs such as Well House Society, Varsity Club, IU Auditorium and the Lilly Library. She enjoyed sports and athletic events at Indiana University especially IU football and men’s and the women’s basketball. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Bloomington or a charity in Monroe County. The family would also like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Brad Bomba Jr., Hospice and the Southern Indiana Homecare for their outstanding care for Sharon. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church In Bloomington. A reception will follow also at the church.
