Violet Marie Hays

Violet Marie Hays, 90, fell asleep waiting on Jesus return on March 17, 2023, She was born August 22, 1932, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Richard and Irene (Mester) Fulper who immigrated from Budapest, Hungary. Following her older brother, Richard, to Bloomington in 1950 she found work as a waitress at the Stone Cafe' where she met Joe, her husband of 71 years. Violet was a shining example of Christian love. Her passion and gift, was teaching absolutely everyone she met about Jesus and helping others. After years of studying God's Word she was convinced of the Sabbath Truth which was life changing. She was an active member of the Congregation of the One New Man. Violet worked at RCA Bloomington for 28 years. After retiring from RCA she continued to help others as a caregiver well into her 80's. She was a volunteer at Mother Hubbard's Cupboard and a supporter of Hannah House where she helped raise funds through their Walk for Life for 25 years. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Ellis Hays; son, Daniel (Lisa) Hays; grandson, Zachary Hays of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Emily (James) Reuter of Spencer and granddaughter, Laura Sky (Jake) Jacobs of Spencer. She has seven great grandchildren; Maddox, Trayton, Reina, Katarina, Izabella and Ellionna Reuter and Layla Jacobs. She is also survived by brothers Richard Fulper of Chesterfield, VA, and Buddy (Linda) Fulper of Pfafftown, NC, and extended family Marilyn Crawford, Nancy Arterburn, Mary Jane Allen, Jane King, Jimmy Crawford, Sue Compton and Tammy (Dave) McMillan. Violet was proceeded in death by her parents, her brother James Fulper and sister Betty Fielder. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old State Road 37, in Bloomington. Visitation is from 11:00 am until the service. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hannah House, 800 N.
